From shade to snacks to sand-free towels, these beach day essentials will help moms enjoy a full day of fun. Don’t miss these summer favorites.

We love the beach and so do our kids. When we get a chance to just spend the whole day hanging out in the sunshine and the waves, building sandcastles, it really give a big entry into their childhood memory bank.
Even though it’s super fun, it can also end up being some of the longest and most exhausting days if we’re not prepared. That’s why we rounded up our favorite beach day essentials for you today. These are the tried-and-true items that make our beach days smooth and memorable. Whether it’s your first time heading out for the day or you’re just looking to make things easier, this list will help you feel ready to go.

Shade Is Your Best Friend
It probably goes without saying, but having some kind of shade at the beach is truly essential to last all day, especially if you have young kids. When are littles were little, to avoid the overheating and to give us all a much needed cool down break, we setup a portable beach tent. We love those because they are easier than an umbrella and give you more space underneath. it also gives you protection from the UV rays, so no one ends up overly burned.
Sand-Free = Stress-Free
If you know you know… sand has a way of ending up, well, everywhere. Especially inside snacks and diaper bags. To avoid as much extra sand as we can, we always setup a sandproof beach blanket and call it our no-sand zone for resting or eating. Before the kids can walk onto the blanket, they have to use the sand remover mitt to brush everything off and shake out their towels. We love using microfiber towels that dry fast and easily shake the sane off of them.
Keep the Gear Contained
There are a few ways we love to keep all of our beach day essentials contained, but our favorite is the Bogg Bag. We use the large one and it’s perfect for holding all the things and not worrying about whether or not sand or water will get in there because it can easily be hosed down when we’re done. Our kids also LOVE to gather shells when we are on the beach, so having a dedicated mesh shell bag is perfect for keeping these sandy treasures organized. And, don’t forget your towel clips to make sure your towel doesn’t blow away and you can stake claim to a good chair.
Music, Snacks, and Comfort Make It a Day
If you’re headed to the beach for the long haul, you’ll want to keep the fun vibes going the whole day. We love bringing a waterproof Bluetooth speaker to maximize the fun. We always prep a cooler too and use our rolling wagon with all the built-in storage to save us from having to go back and forth to the car a bunch. And, of course, don’t forget your beach chairs, some comfy ones, so you can actually relax and not have to try to wiggle into the sand for a seat
Small Details That Make a Big Impact
You’re always going to forget something, but take it from us, don’t forget the wipes, baggies for trash, and a few extra changes of clothes in case of accidents. You’ll thank us later. And, one of the things we had sooner were the sunscreen patches. They are the easiest and best way to know when it’s time to reapply the sunscreen for the kids and for ourselves.
