Memorial Day weekend is always a big one in our houses. It’s like the unofficial kickoff to summer! It gives us a great reason to fire up the grill, hang out outside, and have a good time with family and friends.

As much as we all love burgers and hot dogs, the desserts are what people talk about after the party. That’s why we wanted to put together a fun roundup of our favorite Memorial Day dessert ideas.

These are easy to make, perfect for feeding a crowd, and most importantly, budget-friendly. Plus, we rounded up our favorite add-ons for the desserts too. Let’s get to it!

Crowd-Pleasing Red White and Blue Ideas

Let’s talk about some of the easiest options first since I know we are forever short on time, right? Our first idea is to grab all the fresh berries… strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries to fit the Memorial Day color scheme.

With these, you can easily put together a flag-themed treat by setting up the berries on a fruit tray with a yogurt dip in the center. Not only can you use the berries for a fruit tray, but it also works well for adding to a pre-made pound cake with whipped cream too!

As easy as those two options are, we haven’t even gotten to our favorite idea yet – rice krispie treats with red and blue sprinkles! Not only are these a hit with all kids, but I could quite literally eat an entire pan by myself… I won’t, but I definitely could.

No-Bake Desserts for Hot Days

If it’s feeling extra hot where you live this Memorial Day weekend, we’ve got some great ideas to pull off with baking anything at all.

We love a good no-bake cheesecake cup. You can have these ready to rock in less than 30 minutes, but make sure you give them to chill before serving. Another great no-bake option that fits the color scheme is to make little patriotic parfaits. You could add pudding or yogurt, add some fruit layers, and some whipped topping for a super easy to serve treat.

One of our favorite options is always the red white and blue popsicles. So easy. So festive. You could even get wild and make some yourself by pureeing some fresh fruit, adding a touch of honey, and freezing them over night.

Desserts You Can Prep Ahead

So many of the options above you can easily prep ahead, but we wanted to give you a few more ideas in case those don’t get you excited enough. The best prep ahead desserts are ones that taste better after sitting in the fridge or freezer overnight.

Our favorites of these are banana pudding and frozen cookie dough. We also love a good make-it-and-forget-it dessert too that you can prep in the crockpot and serve as is. Our favorites are any kind of cobbler. Yum!!

Desserts as Decor

The beauty of celebrating Memorial Day is there is a built in patriotic color vibe and so many fun desserts to choose from. If you’re looking for options that you don’t need to add decor around, try grabbing some red, white, and blue cupcake liners with a tiered stand.

You could also use themed picks and toppers to jazz up your store bought items too. Another one of our favorites is to add some edible glitter to the treats to draw the eye in. But, when in doubt, the easiest way to make the dessert table the decor for your party or barbecue is to get some festive plates and napkins.

We’ve got our select favorites listed out for you in the next section.
