Twix Cookie Baking Tips

Don’t overbake: These cookies are meant to stay soft and buttery, so pull them from the oven as soon as the edges barely turn golden. They’ll continue to set as they cool.
Flatten before baking: Use the bottom of a glass or measuring cup to press your cookie dough into even discs, about ½ inch thick. This gives you the perfect shape and structure for layering on the caramel and chocolate later.

Let the caramel cool slightly: After melting the caramel candies with heavy cream, give it a few minutes to thicken before spreading. If it’s too hot, it’ll slide right off the cookies.
Use high-quality chocolate: A good chocolate chip (or even chopped chocolate bar) makes all the difference. The smoother the chocolate, the more bakery-perfect your cookies will look.

Speed up the setting: If you’re impatient like me and can’t wait to sink your teeth in, pop the cookies in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes to help the caramel and chocolate layers firm up faster.
Storage tip: Store your cookies in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. I actually love them chilled. It gives the caramel a chewy texture that’s chef’s kiss perfection.
Optional twist: Try drizzling a little extra melted chocolate on top once they’re set or sprinkle flaky sea salt over the chocolate layer before chilling. It’s a simple upgrade that makes them look straight out of a bakery display case.
